Darryl "Clark" Campbell Obituary

Darryl “Clark” Campbell was called to his Heavenly Home on March 28, 2024.
Clark was born on October 30, 1940, in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada to Paul and Marilyn Ewing.
He and his older brother, Herbert “Blaine” Campbell spent the first few years of their lives living in Picture Butte, Alberta, Canada. After divorcing their father, their mother took Blaine and Clark and moved to Portland, Oregon where she had family residing.  Marilyn later met and married Leland “Lee” Campbell, who would adopt both boys and raise them as his own.
When Clark was 16 years old, his brother Curtis was born and the following year, his brother, Larry, joined the family. Clark loved his brothers dearly.
Clark also had a step-brother, Jim, and a step-sister, Barbara Lee, whom he adored.
Clark has three children: Tim and Tal Campbell of Hamilton, Montana and his daughter, Lori Campbell, of Anchorage, Alaska. He was very proud of his children and how successful each one had become and he was truly grateful for the good people who were in his children’s lives when he was not.
Clark served honorably in the Air Force and he considered this to be a great experience in his life.
Clark was a Floor Layer by trade as well as a Behavioral Health Technician. He loved working in both fields. Clark was also affectionately known as the “Yard Sale King” as he could never pass up a Yard Sale wherever he went and he loved holding his own yard sales as much as he loved going to them. If “Yardsaling” could have been a vocation, he would have made it his lifelong job.
In November of 1997, Clark married his sweetheart and love of his life, Donna Merkley. They loved to travel and go camping together. In their 26 years of marriage, they were honored to care for many in their home, especially their “adopted daughters”: Kelly Lee, Pornpimon “Punch” Ketchanchai, and sisters, Shivanna and Kanaalah Jake. Aside from these beautiful “adopted” daughters, Clark became “Pops” to many whose lives he touched.
If you were to ask Clark what his greatest achievement was in life, he would tell you that it was making the decision to get sober and joining the Fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous. On March 27, 2024, he achieved 40 years of continuous sobriety and in those years, he practiced being of service to many.
Clark also loved being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As a convert later in life to this faith, he loved to learn of how his Savior’s Atonement worked in his life and he strived to serve his fellowman as Christ did.
Clark is survived by his sweetheart, Donna Campbell, as well as his brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Malissa Campbell, and their children, Jacob and Jessie Campbell, his step-sister Barbara Campbell, his children, Tim, Tal, and Lori Campbell, and his niece Carly Campbell.
A Graveside Service will be held on April 6, 2024, at 11:30am at the Snowflake Cemetery located at 390 South 4th Street West, Snowflake, AZ, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00pm at the White Mountain Fellowship Hall located at 380 E. McNeil, Show Low, AZ.
In lieu of flowers, his wife asks that you donate to a charity of your choice.
